Corruption from the Board of Nursing, Your Table is Ready

Boards of Nursing and their states use the same battle cry, "In the interest of the safety and welfare of the public," the court must rule on our side.

Meanwhile, they are not practicing on behalf of the safety and welfare of the public.  Nurses are being targeted based on the threat they pose to those with power, influence, money.

Amy Siple is a Nurse Practitioner, who lapsed on her payment to update her license in Kansas. She has been a nurse for 30 plus years. She is not an unsafe nurse, never has been. The Kansas Board of Nursing as per their NPA, they first and foremost must ascertained that the nurse who is due for a renewal of that license must be a safe nurse. This must happened before they even come to the conversation of fees to update a license. She met that requirement. The Board knew that this is a safe nurse.

In Kansas if you don't have an active license, you must notify the Board with a signed Affidavit on that issue. Amy did not send an Affidavit; thus, she has an active license with the Board. She is a safe nurse with an active license that needs to submit a renewal fee.

She called the Board of Nursing and now she is fighting to keep her license unencumbered. She is facing charges of practicing without a license because she gave talks based on her education, skill and experience. She did not practice hands on. She did not send any CPT codes to charge for the practice of nursing.

It is in the Kansas NP that not updating your license is unprofessional conduct- BLAH! Only because they put it there. Just because is there, does not mean is unprofessional.

Boards of Nursing in all states claim that their modus operendi is to protect the safety and welfare of the public.

Newsflash and here's the memo, not sending a fee to update a license does not make anyone unsafe; thus, you don't have jurisdiction to act on this issue. She is not an unsafe nurse...
